CATEGORY GUIDE

What is AI Service Deal Governance?

AI Service Deal Governance is the pre-send process of checking whether an AI service Offer or RFP can protect margin, control scope, assign responsibility and support delivery before it becomes an external commitment.

Who needs it?

  • Independent AI consultants sending a live proposal
  • AI studios managing several Offers each quarter
  • AI service teams responding to repeat RFPs

When should it happen?

After a commercial draft exists, but before it is sent, signed or treated as an approved delivery commitment. Run it again when a revised version changes scope, price, acceptance, data use or responsibility.

What does the 13-dimension review cover?

Commercial × 6

Price and margin, scope, payment, timeline and dependencies, exclusions, acceptance.

AI-specific × 6

Data and permissions, model uncertainty, third-party cost, human approval and takeover, testing and accuracy, maintenance and exceptions.

RFP × 1

Evaluation criteria, mandatory requirements, submission rules and response coverage.

How the control loop works

  1. 1

    Submit

Provide one authorized, redacted Offer or RFP.

  2. 2

    Review

Receive evidence-linked findings across all 13 dimensions.

  3. 3

    Revise

Submit up to two revised complete versions and compare BLOCKING closure.

  4. 4

    Approve

Your own MFA-verified approver records the send decision at zero reported BLOCKING.

  5. 5

    Learn

Record the post-send outcome to calibrate organization rules and Controlled Deal Rate.

How is it different from proposal writing?

Proposal writing tries to create or improve persuasive copy. Deal governance tests whether the commitments behind that copy are commercially controlled. SharpWave does not write the bid, provide human review or approve the transaction for the customer.

What the result does not mean

  • Zero reported BLOCKING does not prove that every outside fact is correct.
  • The output is automated decision support—not legal, tax, compliance or security-certification advice.
  • A controlled deal does not guarantee an award, payment, margin or dispute-free delivery.
  • SharpWave currently has E0/E1 product and operating evidence; live customer outcome evidence remains limited.
